The Conroe community is coming together to assist a neighbor who fell on hard times and could not take care of his property. 

FOX 26 first told you about the project in the Whispering Pines section of Fosters Ridge subdivision in an “Only on FOX" report last June. 68 days have passed and residents say they just have more to worry about.

The Conroe Police Department has released additional information following a deadly crash on Thursday afternoon.

The officer's injuries were not life-threatening. Details of the initial crash are limited at this time.

The crash was reported on FM 3083 between Exxon Road and Crater Hill Road. Electrical wires are reportedly lying across the roadway.

Ford Elementary School students are being evacuated due to a reported gas leak, according to officials.

The City of Conroe says they reached an agreement with Willis ISD to get the water turned on at Calfee Middle School so inspections can be completed before the school can open next week.

County Judge Mark Keough says his team of county officials and inspectors were on site at Calfee Middle on Wednesday morning, but not for long.

Hundreds of students at one Willis ISD middle school might not be going back to class next week, all because the water is not on.
