FOX 26 Houston Weather Forecast
Warm and muggy weather will stick around through much of this week with increasing rain chances. We will stay in the 80s during the afternoon with lots of humidity. Tuesday is mainly dry but rain chances are higher Wednesday through Friday. Thursday appears to be our best chance for more widespread rain. Warm temperatures and a few showers will linger for your weekend plans. A much bigger pattern change is set to arrive early next week with a stronger cold front. late Monday into Tuesday. This front will bring a better chance for rain and a big drop in temperatures just in time for Halloween...stay tuned for updates!
Tropical Weather Forecast - October 23, 2023
We are getting closer to the end of hurricane season but the tropics remain pretty busy! Tammy remains a hurricane now pushing away from the Lesser Antilles. It is expected to become post-tropical by Thursday and get close to Bermuda by Saturday. Tropical Depression 21 has formed in the SW Caribbean very close to Nicaragua. It will make landfall on the eastern Nicaraguan coast tonight with heavy rain and flooding the main threat. In the eastern Pacific, Norma has weakened to a remnant low after making landfall in Mexico over the weekend. Some of the tropical moisture from Norma continues to push into parts of Texas. Tropical Storm Otis is expected to make landfall in southern Mexico late Tuesday into early Wednesday.

More unseasonably warm weather is on the way today with highs in the upper 80s - this after hitting a record hot high temp of 93? on Saturday. Expect an unsettled pattern to begin this week with showers as early as tonight, then off and on rain from Monday through Friday.

An elevated weather station in the hills overlooking Cabo San Lucas reported multiple wind gusts of more than 90 mph, with a peak gust of 107 mph.

Two hurricanes to discuss. One in the Atlantic and one in the Pacific. And the National Hurricane Center is also watching another area in the Southwest Caribbean for possible tropical development.

Weather pattern will start to shift early next week with some tropical moisture from the eastern Pacific moving back into the state. Most of this will remain to our west but spotty rain showers are possible Monday and Tuesday. Rain and storm chances increase closer to the end of next week as a cold front pushes into the area. Temperatures will also start to feel more like late October towards the end of next week. For now, enjoy summer in October this weekend and lets go Astros!
