A former Barbers Hill teacher has been charged with improper relationship between an educator and a student, according to court records.

A Barbers Hill High School student at the center of a lawsuit spent his first day in alternative school on Thursday because he refuses to cut his dreadlocks and the community gives their reactions.

After serving more than a month of in-school suspension over his dreadlocks, a Black student in Texas was told he will be removed from his high school and sent to a disciplinary alternative education program on Thursday.

A transformer fire has forced Barbers Hill High School to cancel classes. The students have been released, and no injuries have been reported.
