Tropical Weather Forecast: 2025 Atlantic Hurricane season now underway

The 2025 Atlantic Hurricane Season began yesterday. Most of the Atlantic basin is quiet for now with thick Saharan dust moving across the Atlantic Ocean. However, we are monitoring an area of disorganized showers and storms around the Florida peninsula. There's a low 10% chance that these storms could develop into an area of low pressure that could become tropical over the next 7 days as it moves offshore of the Southeast U.S. keep checking back for updates as this possible system evolves. NOAA is predicting 13-19 named storms, 6-10 hurricanes and 3-5 major hurricanes. Now is the time to prepare. Tropical Storm Alvin formed in the eastern Pacific Ocean Thursday and fell apart Saturday becoming Post-Tropical Cyclone Alvin near Cabo San Lucas.
