The scattered storms around Southeast Texas this weekend will carryover into the start of the workweek. A slow moving front looks to maybe make it to the coast midweek and stall once again boosting our rain chances.

Houston weather: Steamy Friday, but mainly dry

We're in for another steamy but mostly dry day with only isolated rain on Friday. But be on the lookout for downpours and storms to increase over the weekend, especially southwest where a few stronger storms could prompt flooding concerns once again. A Flood Watch is in effect for Colorado, Wharton, Matagorda and Jackson counties from 1 AM Saturday through 7 PM Sunday so be sure to include an umbrella in your Mother's Day plans.

Houston weather: Warm Thursday evening with slim chance of rain

Most of your Thursday night should be dry with only a 10% chance for rain. The end of our work week will feature very warm and steamy weather for Friday with only a small chance for an isolated shower or storm and temperatures near 90 degrees! The warm and humid weather continues through the weekend, but rain and storm chances will be on the increase. Look for a 50% chance for showers and storms this weekend with the best chance for heavy rain west of Interstate 45. That means your outdoors Mother's Day plans may get interrupted by rain, especially during the afternoon. Unsettled weather sticks around much of next week with chances for showers and storms daily. A weak front tries to make it into the area late Monday & early Tuesday but won't bring any major changes other than a wind shift.
