The observed area of storms in the far Eastern Atlantic continues to move towards more favorable conditions for development. Looks like we are going to have another tropical cyclone soon in the Atlantic Basin.

Dangerous heat continues into the weekend, with our Excessive Heat Warning being both extended and expanded to cover more of our viewing area through at least 8 p.m. Sunday now. Regardless of what the actual temperatures on the thermometers reach, the dangers lie in the feels-like values that have been significantly higher. Strong Storms riding the top of the ridge/heat dome may clip the far northern extent of our viewing area the next few nights but for most of us rain will be hard to come by until the end of the week. There is hope in sight, though... as the ridge flattens out it looks to take at least a slight edge off the temperatures.

An Excessive Heat Warning now blankets most of our area through at least 8pm Saturday, with a Heat Advisory in effect during the same timeframe along the immediate coastline and Galveston Bay. Feels like values could approach as high as 117 in some spots, with gusty south winds creating dangerous rip current concerns. Extreme caution will be needed for any outdoor activities through Father's Day and Juneteenth. Rain chances are pretty slim, but we can't rule out a stray shower or storm with a stalled out front just to the north of us.
