Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg says her office seized an inmate's commissary account that had more than thirty thousand dollars, which has never happened in the history of the D.A.'s office. She says evidence showed 35-year-old inmate "Joshua Owens" received the funds through drug smuggling. A 12-year-old girl is accused of smothering and killing her 8-year-old cousin over an iPhone. According to the county's prosecutor, a security camera recorded the killing inside the bedroom the young girls shared. The recording shows the older child using bedding to suffocate her cousin as she slept in the top bunk. After the child died, the juvenile cleaned up the victim and repositioned her body.

We are honoring and remembering the life of Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee. Over the weekend a hero and legend died after a battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 74. Congresswoman Lee served the Houston area for nearly 30 years.
