Prepare for another sunny and dry afternoon for Wednesday as highs reach 90s. Humidity will begin to increase tomorrow as rain chances also increase with the highest chance of showers on Friday.

The dry stretch is expected to continue until Friday when the chance for isolated showers will begin to increase ahead of an approaching front. That front is not likely to bring us cool air, but could be just enough of a wind shift to generate showers Friday and possibly a few storms Saturday.

Another day where we're starting off with a cool, clear morning before we get sunny and warm in the afternoon! Highs will reach into the 90s for Tuesday and burn bans are in effect for a few Houston-area counties.

Average highs for mid-October are in the low to mid 80s, but we will continue to see highs closer to 90. The great news is that overnight lows will still fall into the 60s, so mornings will be clear and comfortable. Sunshine and light breezes will favor the formation of ozone pollution for most afternoons this week.

Lorenzo formed this morning in the central Atlantic and now has maximum sustained winds of 50 mph. It is very far from land and will remain well out to sea, posing no threat to the U.S., Caribbean or the Gulf. Lorenzo is expected to turn north Tuesday and eventually northeast as we go through the rest of the week. There's about 17% of activity remaining for the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season, which runs through November 30th. The tropics remain quiet for the Houston area.

It's clear and pleasant Monday morning even as highs will continue to be closer to the 90s in the afternoon. Rain chances will remain very low until rising slightly toward the end of the work week.
