Saturday will feel dramatically different, with much cooler air, blustery winds, and falling temperatures through the day. By early Sunday morning, runners in the Chevron Houston Marathon can expect a chilly start, favoring performance but requiring warm layers before and after the race, especially for volunteers and spectators.

The 54th Annual Chevron Houston Marathon Weekend is almost here and the weather in Houston will be cooling down just in time for runners. A cold front will sweep across Southeast Texas on Friday leaving cooler and breezy conditions for the weekend ahead. Runners can expect temperatures to the in the low-40s with a northerly breeze for the start of the marathon. Sunrise is at 7:17 a.m. Partly cloudy but dry skies prevail for the remainder of the morning. If you are cheering on your favorite runner, you might need an extra layer. There's a lot of moisture in place that can lead to a chance of isolated showers some time today. Expect a warm and humid afternoon with highs near 80.

Daily record highs are at risk with Houston experiencing two more spring-like days. Record high is 79 for Thursday and 80 for Friday. Both records could be tied or broken.
