HOUSTON (FOX 26) - Deputies are investigating after a 20-year-old woman was found dead from a gunshot wound on a residential street in Spring.
Harris County Precinct 4 deputies were called out to the scene at about 1:30 a.m. for what was originally called in as a possible suicide. When they got to the scene, detectives could not find a gun and started investigating it as a homicide.
The victim was living with a friend at the time. The friend's father spoke to us and believes that this wasn’t an accident and that police need to be out searching for the suspect.
Steven Johnson says he and his daughter when outside to investigate when they heard a shot.
"We rushed out and she rushed out first because I had to put some clothes on. She rushed out first and by the time I got to the car she said 'call 911,'" Johnson says. "So I ran back in and got my phone and I called 911 and that’s when the ambulance and everything got here.”
