Harris County crime: Authorities capture suspect who evaded them on John Deere Gator

A man is accused of leading Harris County authorities on a chase in a John Deere Gator that was stolen from a high school.

According to the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office, Andrew Rehwinkel is charged with felony evading in a motor vehicle and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

The incident occurred Thursday evening in the 5200 block of FM 1920.

According to the constable’s office, deputies tried to make contact with Rehwinkel, but he fled in the stolen Gator and led them on a brief pursuit before the vehicle became disabled.

The suspect fled on foot but was apprehended soon after, authorities say.

According to the constable’s office, the Gator had been stolen from a Klein ISD high school.
