The Houston Humane Society is taking care of more than 100 animals tonight, after seizing them from a southwest Houston apartment. Law enforcement found the animals while serving an eviction notice. There were ferrets, sugar gliders, chinchillas, prairie dogs, guinea pigs, African Grey Parrots, cockatiels and dogs.

Neighbors are hoping to catch the man who shot and killed a prominent Houston Methodist cardiologist in broad daylight, by retracing the gunman's path.

A good Samaritan said she was alarmed to see a man verbally then physically attack a woman who had a baby with her. However, she said she was even more disturbed when she called 911 twice, and never saw any officers arrive.

Navasota ISD is utilizing the Guardian Plan this school year. Teachers and staff who volunteer and meet a number of stringent criteria will be allowed to carry concealed handguns on campus.
