The University of Houston has moved up to 19th in the latest rankings set by the College Football Playoff Committee.

Jeff Banister selected American League Manager of the Year

NEW YORK (AP) — Jeff Banister has been selected the AL Manager of the Year after leading the Texas Rangers to a division title in his first season on the job. Banister got 17 first-place votes for 112 points from the Baseball Writers' Association of America in balloting announced Tuesday. Banister is the fifth manager to win in his first year. Washington's Matt Williams won in 2014, his first as a manager. He was fired after the end of this season.

Thomas leads Celtics to easy 111-95 win over Rockets

HOUSTON (AP) — Isaiah Thomas scored 23 points and the Boston Celtics used a 32-point third quarter to pull away and cruise to a 111-95 win over the slumping Houston Rockets on Monday night. It is the third straight win for the Celtics and gives Houston a four-game losing streak for the first time since the team dropped seven straight in January 2013.

Rams replace QB Foles with Keenum for Ravens game

ST. LOUIS (AP) — Case Keenum will replace Nick Foles as the starter, St. Louis Rams coach Jeff Fisher said Monday. Fisher said he had been over the last "four to five weeks" looking at the "big picture" in the production of the offense. "Decided to make a quarterback change," Fisher said. "This is my decision. Nobody came down the hall and said this is what we need to do."

WACO, Texas (AP) — Sterling Shepard had 14 catches for 177 yards with two touchdowns and No. 12 Oklahoma beat No. 4 Baylor 44-34 on Saturday night to end the Bears' 20-game home winning streak — and likely their playoff chances. Baker Mayfield was 24 of 34 for 270 yards and three touchdowns and ran for a score to help Oklahoma gain control of its destiny in the Big 12. The Sooners (9-1, 6-1, No. 15 CFP) have won five straight since that still hard-to-explain loss to Texas.

Felton helps short-handed Mavericks beat Rockets 110-98

HOUSTON (AP) — Dallas Mavericks veteran point guard Raymond Felton danced his way down the court to his team's bench, wearing an ear-to-ear grin. Late in the fourth quarter, Felton scored seven straight to give his Dallas a 14-point lead in their 110-98 road victory over the Houston Rockets. Still smiling after the win and his best scoring night in two years, Felton downplayed the celebration.

No. 16 Houston rallies for 35-34 win over No. 25 Memphis

HOUSTON (AP) — Backup quarterback Kyle Postma rushed for the go-ahead score and threw for a touchdown to rally No. 16 Houston from 20 points down to a 35-34 win over No. 25 Memphis on Saturday night. Postma came in just before halftime when Greg Ward Jr. left with what appeared to be a left ankle injury. Postma went 21 of 33 for 236 yards and carried six times for 49 yards.
