Suspect in custody after shots fired at police

HOUSTON (FOX 26) - Police have arrested a suspect they say shot at officers in southwest Houston.

According to HPD, plain-clothed officers driving an unmarked vehicle were conducting an investigation in the area when a suspect came out of a home and fired at least twice at officers. Police say officers did not return fire and immediately took cover and called for backup. The officers were not hurt. 

Officers searched the area near 13700 block of Regg near W. Orem. A SWAT team and hostage negotiators were called out to a scene to assist.
