Bond now $1.5M for mother who abandoned 3 sons in apartment with brother’s body
HOUSTON - A Harris County judge has raised the bond to $1.5 million for the mother accused of leaving her three sons abandoned in an apartment with their brother's decomposing body.
BACKGROUND: HCSO: 3 children abandoned, skeletal remains of another child found in Harris Co. apartment
Gloria Williams went before the judge Friday morning. The 35-year-old is charged with injury to a child by omission, serious bodily injury to a child by omission, and tampering with evidence - human corpse.
Williams’s bond was originally set at $900,000, but the judge called that amount "insufficient." The bond for the serious bodily injury charge was raised from $350,000 to $1 million.
Williams' boyfriend Brian Coulter is charged with the murder of her 8-year-old son Kendrick Lee, whose skeletal remains were discovered last month.
Coulter's bond is set at $1 million.

In Williams’ Probable Cause hearing, it was revealed Kendrick’s 7- and 10-year-old brothers watched as he was beaten to death.
"He was actually in the room when the co-defendant assaulted his deceased younger brother striking him in the face, feet, buttocks, back and testicles with closed fist and feet," the prosecutor read aloud from court documents.
Kendrick's brothers said Coulter kept beating the boy even after he stopped moving and blinking.
The prosecutor went on to say Williams walked in the room, saw her son dead, cried, argued with Coulter but didn’t report it because, according to the hearing, Coulter told her not to and she was afraid to go to jail.
The two lived in the apartment with Kendrick's decomposing corpse from November 2020 to March 2021 before leaving her other children behind to live with the body alone.
Once Williams moved out, she sent some groceries about once a month. According to prosecutors, Williams didn’t know what to do with her son's remains, so she continued renting the apartment so his body wouldn’t be discovered.
