Houston weather: Hazy, sunny Monday to start the week

The morning is starting off quiet before it turns into a typical summer day feeling hot and humid. Overall, the conditions for rain don't look as strong as yesterday, but scattered afternoon storms are a safe bet. Highs will be in the 90s with a heat index slightly above 100 by noon.

Houston weather: Isolated Monday storms and Saharan dust

Monday morning should start to show some hazy in the skies as Saharan dust thickens across southeast Texas. Houston could still see a few afternoon downpours as a bit of that plume of tropical moisture from the weekend is still hanging around.

Tropical Weather Update - June 29, 2025

Tropical Storm Barry has strengthened slightly but about to make landfall on the east coast of Mexico. It won't last long once it makes landfall, but heavy rains will potentially cause mudslides and flash floods. The National Hurricane Center is also starting to talk about a potential tropical system in the eastern Gulf at the end of next week.

Houston weather: More rain possible this weekend

Moisture levels are lower than earlier in the week but still high enough to stop scattered afternoon storms from forming again across the Houston area for Saturday. Most of the activity will form around Harris, Fort Bend and Montgomery by early afternoon and linger off and on through sunset. Look for a quick 1-2" of rainfall from the stronger downpours with frequent lightning.

Tropical Weather Update - June 27, 2025

A disorganized area of storms soaked the Yucatan Friday and it has a small chance of developing into a depression in the far southern Gulf this weekend. The only effect on our area will be the chance for some of the extra moisture to be pulled into our area slightly increasing our rainfall.
