Our next cold front moves through the area Thursday night into early Friday and could even bring a brief round of strong thunderstorms. Friday will turn blustery again with north breezes and highs only in the 50s. Marathon weather this weekend does look chilly with a low temperature of about 32 on Saturday morning and about 40 on Sunday morning. This is going to be an MLK day holiday to remember with temperatures plunging into the 30s through the day along with very harsh north winds, and that will be followed by some of the coldest weather that we?ve seen since December 2022.

There's a low risk for a few severe storms early Friday morning with Houston in the low 1/5 Marginal Risk. A few strong wind gusts near 60 mph will be the main threat. Next system arrives Sunday with a few rain showers and a lot of cold air. We'll go from 60s Sunday afternoon to 30s Sunday night.
