Warm, cloudy Sunday evening in the 70s
Scattered showers across the Houston area on Monday and Tuesday. Maybe an isolated downpour but if you see rain it won't be too intense. Easter Sunday Weather Forecast with Meteorologist Lena Maria Arango
Outdoor activities for Easter Sunday are a go! After some patchy fog/mist and morning clouds, the afternoon will feature dry conditions and partly sunny skies. The workweek begins with the return of scattered rain and storms as a disturbance passes over our area. It looks to later form into a low-pressure system over the gulf bringing parts of Louisiana heavy rainfall midweek. Once it moves east, it will pull in drier air for us so look for several sunny warm days. Over the weekend, an approaching cold front could bring the return of unsettled weather.

Saturday weather forecast with Meteorologist Lena Maria Arango
After a cloudy and damp start to Saturday morning look for a mild afternoon with some sunshine. Easter Sunday is slightly warmer, with intervals of clouds and sun and also mostly dry. Continuing to watch for an area of low pressure that may form in the Gulf early next week, but still a lot of questions on if/how it will impact our forecast. High pressure builds in by the end of the week and we'll be sunny, dry and warm!

Saturday morning Houston-area forecast
Super soggy and unsettled weather pattern should start to shift as we move into the holiday weekend. By Saturday morning, spotty mainly light rain early possible with drier weather expected much of the day. Easter Sunday looks mainly dry with only a 10% chance for rain and warmer temperatures in the middle 70s. Early next week we are monitoring a possible disturbance that could develop in the Gulf of Mexico. If if develops, that would mean more clouds & a better chance for rain with cooler temps. If it doesn't develop, there would be more sun with drier and warmer weather. So keep checking back for the latest forecast! Whether the disturbance develops or not, it looks like high pressure will take over by the middle and end of next week which will translate into toasty temperatures in the 80s and more sunshine.

Possible rounds of rain Friday afternoon in the 60s
After a soggy Good Friday, tomorrow we'll transition toward drier weather for the remainder of the holiday weekend. Lots of questions remain regarding the forecast early next week and if a disturbance forms we'd be cloudy, cool, and unsettled. If it doesn't, we'll be sunny dry and warmer. So, expect changes and don't totally tune out the forecast over the long holiday weekend. By middle of next week high pressure takes over and we warm back into the 80s through next weekend!

Friday Houston weather forecast
We are continuing to watch for rounds of heavy rain primarily along the coastline today, and although inland locations will see scattered activity, the threat for flooding in Houston is much less likely. Tomorrow will start cloudy and cool with some early showers and partial afternoon clearing, then Easter Sunday looks pretty nice! Next week a coastal low may mess with cloud cover and rain chances if it forms so expect some changes there and check back over the weekend for updates.

Friday morning Houston-area morning forecast
Threat for flooding for Houston and surrounding areas will remain elevated through Friday night. Some parts of SE TX up around Brenham, Navasota & Huntsville have picked up around 3-7" of rain over the last 24 hours. Heaviest rain has been just NW of Houston so far. But with a front stalled over the Gulf and with another disturbance pushing in, expect more waves of heavy rain. Scattered rain will persist for the early evening with an even bigger wave of heavy rain expected to push in overnight. That means the Friday morning rush hour could be a mess with heavy downpours creating low visibility and ponding of water on roads. There could be some flooding issues as well so stay alert and make sure to grab the FOX 26 weather app. An additional 2-4" of rain is possible for Houston area through Friday night. Warmer weather returns next week.

Heavy rain, strong storms expected across Houston area, officials prepare for possibility of flooding
"Our biggest fear is lack of movement in this storm and constant rain," said Houston Mayor Pro-Tem Dave Martin. "If the storm moves through quickly, we’re in great shape. We can handle six to 10 inches. But if it sits there and rains continuously, we’ll have some challenges."
