FOX 26 Houston Weather Forecast
Look for a quiet but chilly night across Houston with temperatures dipping to the 30s. Wind advisory has ended as wind is expected to settle down some tonight. Warmer air builds in over the next few days with temperatures soaring into the 70s Thursday afternoon. Next system pushes in overnight Thursday into Friday bringing some scattered showers and a few strong storms. There's a low risk for a few severe storms early Friday morning with Houston in the low 1/5 Marginal Risk. A few strong wind gusts near 60 mph will be the main threat. Next system arrives Sunday with a few rain showers and a lot of cold air. We'll go from 60s Sunday afternoon to 30s Sunday night. By MLK Jr. Day, highs will only be near 40 with overnight lows in the teens and 20s! This will be the coldest air so far this season and the first hard freeze. So remember to dress in layers, winterize your home by protecting pipes/dripping faucets, keep pets warm and check on family/neighbors that might need help.
