Tropical Weather Forecast - September 19, 2025
Gabrielle remains fairly weak and disorganized today, but could get stronger by the end of the weekend through Monday. It is forecast to become a hurricane Sunday into Monday as it gets closer to Bermuda. It is not a threat to the United States and only poses a slight risk for Bermuda as it passes east early next week. We have only had one hurricane this season so far. Other than Tropical Storm Gabrielle, there will be a couple of tropical waves that could develop in the Atlantic through the end of the month, but our computer models are not showing much to worry about.

The forecast track shows it is most likely going to stay away from the U.S. East Coast. But it will likely pose some sort of risk to Bermuda, so keep checking back.

Tropical Weather Forecast - Watching for new development in Far Eastern Atlantic
The tropics are still remarkably quiet for mid-September, the typical peak of hurricane season. However, there is a pretty impressive tropical wave moving off the west coast of Africa today that models are really latching on to. There is a good chance that it will eventually become a tropical storm, or even a hurricane over the next 5-7 days. The system is thousands of miles from the Gulf, so no concern at this time. The next name on the list is Gabrielle.
