Fort Bend ISD trustees are nearing a final decision on proposed elementary school closures. During a recent meeting, 78 people signed up for public comment as parents challenged the district’s financial justification, including projected savings of $5 to $7 million — less than one percent of the district’s overall budget. The board is scheduled to consider final recommendations on March 9, 2026.
