Wild dogs kill at least 25 pets in Spring area neighborhood

Simon was sitting on a car and minding his own business when the two wild dogs attacked. Minutes later, 5-year-old Elijah watched as the dogs killed his cat, Simon.

"He's been waking up with nightmares almost every single night," said his mother, Valerie Sankey.

"I have a 3-year-old. She thinks we took her to the doctor. She doesn't know she's not coming back," said Samantha Alvarez Rodriguez.

Her cat Whiskers was also killed by the two aggressive and dangerous dogs.

"My husband bangs on the door and says, 'I saw two brown dogs take off with her. I don't know if you want to see how she looks, but I think she's dead,'" Rodriquez said. "It was bad. It was like losing one of our kids."

"It's more people everyday saying they are finding strays and burying them, because they don't know who they belong to, or they're having to contact other people, telling them their animals are dead. It's really sad," said Amy Stephens.

In just the last couple of months, the two wild dogs have killed at least 25 dogs and cats in a 2-mile area around Villages of Spring Oaks.

Harris County Animal Control officers have gone to the neighborhood 13 times to try to catch the dogs, who are always together.
