Truancy violation haunts family 7 years later

HOUSTON (FOX 26) - A woman who is already burdened with health problems is facing time in jail because her daughter missed too many days of school -- in 2009! The family of Patricia Lagard reached out to FOX 26 News when she received a warrant in the mail. Attached to that arrest notice was a fine due of more than $800.

FOX 26 is presenting her story to solve the problem while also warning the public about how lingering legal issues won't just go away over time.
