HOUSTON (FOX 26) - Police are trying to determine if any charges will be filed against an elderly woman who drove a vehicle over a sleeping homeless man in the parking lot of a southwest Houston store.
The accident was reported outside a Walgreens store on Richmond Avenue near Fondren Road. Police say the woman was trying to avoid busy traffic on Richmond Avenue when she decided to cross through the shopping center parking lot.
After the man was run over, a wrecker driver had to use equipment to lift her vehicle in order for the man to be removed and taken to a hospital.
The elderly woman was also taken to a hospital to be treated for high blood pressure.
