Man, 84, dies after being shot in the back while on morning walk in Baytown

Authorities have confirmed that an 84-year-old man has died after being shot in the back while on his morning walk in Baytown. Police have not named a suspect in the case.

Police say the man and his friend were out on a walk Wednesday morning in the Pinehurst subdivision when a car pulled up and someone in the car opened fire. 

The man was flown to the hospital for emergency surgery and he was last listed in critical condition.

Police hope someone can help identify the person or people responsible. Authorities believe the suspect vehicle is a light colored four-door sedan, possibly a Chevrolet, with a missing front license plate.

Detectives continue interviewing people as a part of the normal ivestigatire process.
