Horse and mule run wild across a Calfornia highway

WALNUT CREEK, CA - An odd pair of fugitives ran loose on a California freeway on Monday.  The mustang in the rearview mirror ended up to be a real horse running on a Northern California highway, and a mule was the sidekick.

Commuters east of San Francisco were surprised to see a white horse and a brown mule running across Interstate 680.  Reportedly, the two animals broke through a fence about a mile off the interstate near the city of Walnut Creek. Officers managed to round up the animals and get them to safety.
