Firefighters extinguish container fire in Montgomery County
THE WOODLANDS, Texas - Firefighters have extinguished a container fire that sparked up in Montgomery County on Tuesday afternoon, officials said.

What we know:
According to Montgomery County ESD 9, they were called out to an area on Koalstad Road around 12:45 p.m. in reference to a hazardous materials incident.
Officials said they were called out to the scene following reports of a fire involving a container on the property.

When authorities arrived, they established command, secured the area, and began hazardous materials' response protocols.
Montgomery County ESD said the substance involved was determined to be a flammable solid, a material commonly used for industrial processing.
As a result, authorities established a safety perimeter and conducted monitoring to evaluate potential risks to the public and the environment.
Officials said the incident has been stabilized and there is no threat to the surrounding community.
Authorities stated they are wrapping up operations and turning over the scene to the property owner.
There are no reported injuries.
