Fatal stabbing in northwest Houston

Police are investigating the death of a woman they believe was killed by her boyfriend in northwest Houston.

Officers say they arrived at the suspect's father's home in the 10200 block of Tangiers around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday and found a woman's body. Police say the woman's neck and head had been slit.

According to police, the suspect's father came home to find his son had gotten into a fight with his girlfriend, which ended when the suspect killed her with a knife. Police say the father escorted his son to the police station where the son turned himself in, telling police what he'd done. Police say the suspect is in his 30s.

As for the victim, police would only say she looked to be in her late 20s to early 30s.

"When the medical examiner gets out here, we'll get a closer look at the body to see how many wounds and how many specific- she may have been stabbed too. We just don't know at this time 'cause we're waiting on them," Houston Police Detective Michael Arington said.
