Family claims they were harassed while campaigning for Beto O'Rourke

A local family claims they were harassed by a man while campaigning for Rep. Beto O'Rourke.

A grandmother and her two grand daughters shared their unpleasant encounter in a Facebook video.

They say they were out block-walking for Senate candidate Beto O'Rourke when they found themselves confronted by a white man whose name they did not get. The grandmother says she was cursed at and told to go back to where she came from by that man.

"Yesterday, while doing this 'American as apple pie' activity within walking distance of my mother’s house, a man approached my mother and daughters and (among other choice words) demanded that they “go back where they came from” because this is HIS neighborhood," the young girls' mother wrote on Facebook.

The mother went on to write, "In 2018, some people are emboldened enough in their hate to accost a 70-year old grandmother and her 8 and 10 year old granddaughters. Please let this be a wake up call of how real and unhinged the hate has become. We must call it out, and we must demand better."

The grandmother, mother, and the two young girls spoke to Isiah Factor Uncensored anchor Isiah Carey about what happened.
