Are you a serial returner?

The jig is up if you're one of those people who go out and buy a nice outfit to attend an event or party and return it the next day. They call that “wardrobing”, and you may also be labeled a serial returner.

People who have been identified as such are now being monitored by a national service called “The Retail Equation”. They monitor your pattern of returns at stores. When you've run your game once too often, you're denied a return – even if you have the receipt.

Why? Because the scheme is costing retailers and workers between 382,000 and 620,000 jobs, and states are losing a total of $663 million to $1.07 billion annually in sales tax revenues. It's also impacting small businesses.
