Ali Lowitzer's mom raises awareness about daughter's disappearance and Missing Persons Day

The Spring High School sophomore, Ali Lowitzer was last seen getting off her school bus on the afternoon of April 26, 2010, not far from her family's home.  She never returned home. Ali's disappearance is still so heartwrenching for her mom, 8 years later.

“I get asked all the time if it gets easier.  I always say no. When you suffer the death of a loved one, you have the closure.  But a missing person—you’re left with the not knowing. And that’s a nightmare," said Ali Lowitzer's mom, Joann.

Lowitzer is now taking the worst tragedy in her life to serve a purpose by helping other families nationwide.  "If I can help some family, that's what my goal is. It's worth it." Lowitzer raised awareness her daughter's disappearance in Spring and pushed for the commemoration of National Missing Persons Day, Saturday, February 3rd, 2018.

In honor of National Missing Persons Day, there will be an event on Saturday from 3-5pm at Houston City Hall at 901 Bagby Street.
