The strongest of Saturday's storms have passed through Greater Houston. Some areas may see some more rain on Sunday.

Saturday night's stronger storms will be in our southwest counites and that is where a Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until 11:00pm.

Houston remains in an elevated 2 out of 5 risk for severe storms, including damaging winds and the possibility for some large hail Saturday.  Make sure to have a plan to get indoors quickly if you are at rodeo or enjoying any other outdoor activities on Saturday.  Severe storm threat is much lower on Sunday. But the risk for flooding remains elevated as rounds of heavy rain and strong storms continue to roll through the Houston area.

If you're heading to the Rodeo, prepare for a messy fairway and potential travel delays to and from NRG as early as Saturday afternoon and through Sunday afternoon.

If you're heading out to the Houston rodeo today, it'll be warm and humid with highs in the 80s. There may be some light rain later on in the evening. There is a FOX 26 Storm Alert for this weekend as a round of heavy rain moves in Saturday evening into Sunday.

Those heading to the Houston Rodeo should prepare for wet conditions and potential severe storm development, including the risk of heavy rain and gusty winds, as the most active weather arrives late Saturday and lingers into Sunday. Weekend severe storm threat has increased to a level 2 out of 5 for Houston and the flash flood threat has increased to a level 2 out of 4 for Saturday. Please stay alert and have a plan to get indoors quickly if you are heading out to rodeo or other outdoor plans.

Southerly flow from the Gulf keeps Southeast Texas unseasonably warm and sticky through the end of the work week. Expect breezy southeast winds gusting to 25 mph and afternoon highs climbing into the lower 80s under mostly cloudy skies. Isolated storms are possible on Friday.

A strong disturbance may impact Texas late Friday into the weekend. While specifics are still evolving, scattered storms, possibly strong, remain a possibility. We’ll continue refining timing and severity details as we get closer. For now, plan on dodging occasional downpours this weekend with some rounds of stronger storms. A brief cooldown could follow a cold front on pace for mid-next week.
