Following a warm, humid day with rounds of severe storms north of Houston, today will be windy and much cooler. Look for sunshine with highs in the upper 50s. the next couple of mornings will be clear and cold with some areas in the upper 30s. Our next best chance for rain arrives along with a cold front for Friday and Saturday.

This week will start off with 3 mornings in the 40s and pleasant afternoons. Valentine's Day will be lovely with highs in the upper 60s. Rain chances returns late in the week.

Today is a FOX 26 Storm Alert Day. A front will sweep across Houston midday bringing scattered showers and strong storms possible to the northern viewing area. Once the front clears, you can expect dry skies and cooler air to start next week. Afternoon highs go from the 70s today, to the upper-50s on Monday. Look for foggy conditions before that front moves through bringing the rain and storms Sunday morning. By the end of the weekend the front starts to clear the skies for the start of the work week also ushering in some cooler, drier air. Expect mornings to return to the 40s for the first half of next week. Weather looks good for Valentine's Day but then rain returns for the end of the week.

It is a FOX 26 Storm Alert Weekend as rounds of heavy rain and isolated storms are possible across Houston. We are already seeing showers this morning, and they will continue through the mid-morning hours. Another round of rain and possible storms is expected this evening and again Sunday morning. A front will stall over our area, and depending on where it stalls, there could be street flooding in that area. Houston is forecast to receive about an inch of rain in total this weekend, but areas north could see 2"+. That front will clear to our east by the start of next week ushering in cooler and drier air. Wake up temperatures on Monday will be in the 40 with afternoon highs in the upper-50s.
