Big weather changes are on the way to Southeast Texas this week. Behind a gloomy and misty weekend, our skies will slowly be clearing. Highs will soar to the upper-70s if not 80 degrees. A cold front moves in overnight which will plummet temperatures to the low-60s and wake up temperatures in the 30s later this week. Keep your jackets handy as you will need them soon. The rainy weekend is slowly coming to an end across Southeast Texas. Look for some low clouds and fog around Houston on Monday morning. The afternoon will be very warm with temps near 80 degrees. A cold front sweeps through Tuesday pushing temps back down below the seasonal averages. Get ready for some chilly mornings on Wednesday and Thursday!

The rain returns to Southeast Texas this weekend. We do start on a chilling note this morning with wake-up temperatures in the 40s. On and off showers are expected throughout the afternoon with highs once again in the 50s. Another round of rain moves in on Sunday and there is the chance for isolated street flooding, but the biggest flood threat will stay off to our east. We continue to move through the holiday season with another weekend upon us in the Houston area. Get ready for some big changes with this weekend's weather, including a significant chance for widespread rain! A few showers will start pushing back into Southeast Texas tonight with rain becoming more widespread through the day Saturday. Best chance for rain is expected on Sunday with a 80% chance for showers and a few rumbles of thunder. Rain could be heavy at times Sunday with the heaviest rain expected to the east. Overall, the street flooding risk this weekend has gotten much lower but expect the potential for a few flooded roads. Rain totals will likely end up being anywhere from a trace up to 1 inch. Saturday will start off in the 40s with temperatures only climbing to the upper 50s by Saturday afternoon. Much warmer weather returns Sunday and Monday with temperatures climbing to the seventies. This warm up will be brief as another cold front will dive into the Houston area Tuesday knocking temperatures back down for the middle of next week. A few drizzles this morning, then becoming cooler, windy and dry . Temperatures in the 60s this morning and 50s by afternoon.

Showers will slow down moving into the overnight on Wednesday. Look for a cloudy day on Thursday with only isolated chances for rain. Late on Friday and into the weekend rain returns to Southeast Texas. Heavy rainfall is possible on Saturday and Sunday with several more inches of rain possible. Timing and locations will need to be adjusted as we get to the end of this week, but right now it does look like Sunday is the wetter day. Houston sees another cold front Tuesday clearing out all the rain and dropping temperatures back to "chilly".
