The Atlantic Basin remains very quiet with Saharan Dust continuing to move through. Meanwhile in the Pacific, Darby continues to weaken and is expected to become a remnant low in the next 24 hours. Beneficial rain from Darby will spread over the Hawaiian Islands this weekend with breezy conditions. Tropical Depression Six-E could become our next named storm in the Eastern Pacific.

In the Atlantic, we continue to monitor a stationary broad trough of low pressure in the northern Gulf of Mexico. While organization and development opportunities remain low, heavy rainfall is possible along coastal Louisiana through the Florida Panhandle. In the Pacific, Darby continues to churn westward as a major hurricane with one other area being monitored for development at this time.

Dr. Klotzbach and Colorado State University released their July update for their Hurricane Season Forecast. They now expect the Accumulated Cyclone Energy to be 180 and the Net Tropical Cyclone Activity to be 195. And there is more Saharan Dust in the Atlantic.
