Man shot by former cop speaks out after officer's acquittal

Last week we spoke with a former Freeport police officer who accidentally shot his neighbor. Matthew McInnis joined the force in December 2015. The next month, he was asleep at his apartment when reached to turn off his alarm, but instead hit his gun, accidentally firing it into his neighbor's apartment. The bullet hit Reggie Rosso, seriously injuring him.

“That feeling along with being half awake, realizing what happened, trying to put the story all together, happening at the same time, was extremely overwhelming. It’s a wicked feeling,” McInnis said

McInnis was charged with deadly conduct but was acquitted last week. He resigned from the force even though he always wanted to be a police officer. The victim, Reggie Rossow, joins us on the Factor to share his side of the story.
