Man driving Jaguar leads police on high-speed chase
HOUSTON, TX - A man driving a Jaguar led police on a high-speed pursuit on the North Loop near the Heights. Police attempted to stop the driver because of defective tail-light, but he bolted reaching speeds of 90 mph. The driver then led police on a lengthy chase on Lyons to Jensen, and then onto 59 Eastex Freeway racing all the way to Kingwood. He then came back to Houston on the North Loop. When officers finally apprehended him, the driver then jumped out of the car and attempted to run on foot--but officers caught him. Two passengers also jumped out of the car.
Initially the two passengers told police they were kidnapped, and had simply asked for a ride. Investigators found out later that all three of the people in the car knew each other. The driver faces Felony Evading charges. When he ran on foot, the driver dropped gun he was carrying.
