Man dies after welding explosion at Kemah fabrication shop
KEMAH, Texas (FOX 26) - Deputies say a 57-year-old man died from his injuries after an explosion occurred while he was welding at a fabrication shop in Kemah.
The explosion occurred at a maritime welding and fabrication company on Lawrence Road near FM 2094 on Monday morning.
Galveston County deputies say the man was welding on the gas tank of a small offshore boat when it exploded. The sheriff's office says the man was taken to the hospital with severe burn injuries and died at the hospital.
The Galveston County Sheriff's Office and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration are conducting investigations into the incident.
