HPD: Officer discharged weapon at burglary suspect

HOUSTON (FOX 26) - The Houston Police Department is investigating an officer-involved shooting in northwest Houston.

Around 3 p.m. Saturday, officers were dispatched to 10079 Briarwild with reports of a burglary suspect. Preliminary reports say that an HPD officer discharged a weapon.

The suspect was transported to Ben Taub hospital with injuries sustained by a K9 unit.

It was unclear if the suspect was struck by the officer's gunfire.
