Houston Direct Auto victim of check fraud

A Houston car dealership has been scammed for tens of thousands of dollars and they want the suspects arrested.

Here's how the owner of Houston Direct Auto says the scam worked. A man and woman came into their shop separately in mid-March with financed cars that they paid off using hot checks.

By the time the financing bank realized the checks were worthless, Houston Direct had already purchased the vehicles from the man and woman.

That left Houston Direct owing Bank of America more $60,000.

That man and woman seen in surveillance video pocketed $23,000 for a 2017 Jaguar and $38,000 for a 2015 Porsche.

Houston Direct is offering $2500 for any information leading them to the address or whereabouts of the man and woman.
