Harris County Animal Shelter offering $10 adoptions to help overcrowding
HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (FOX 26) - The Harris County Animal Shelter is making a plea to animal lovers for help. Administrators say they need to find homes for hundreds of animals to keep them from being euthanized.
The shelter normally houses about 120 dogs but right now they have more than double that in their care—around 320 canines. The shelter is hoping families will open their hearts and homes to these furry friends looking for a new life.
To help out adopters, and hopefully reduce the overcrowding, the shelter is charging just $10 for some adoptions. They say that fee includes spay and neutering.
