Congressman Al Green encourages banks to invest in communities like Bellaire

HOUSTON (FOX 26) - Congressman Al Green is holding a congressional hearing on Wednesday to address the issue of how small banks can help communities grow by investing "small".

On Tuesday, the congressman took some of his colleagues on a bus tour of Bellaire to show how small banks are helping the community's small businesses and encouraging consumer lending. Green says the number of minority-owned banks have been almost cut in half in the last decade.
