City of Houston response to federal funding freeze

President Trump has paused federal loans and grants as his administration reviews spending and the City of Houston is responding.

According to the Associated Press, the pause was scheduled to take effect at 5 p.m. ET on Tuesday.

"Mayor Whitmire is aware of the pause on federal grants announced by the Office of Budget Management. He has directed members of his team to review the multiple Trump Administration executive orders to determine what, if any impact, the EOs will have on the City of Houston. Mayor Whitmire believes in collaboration and will continue to work with our partners on the federal, state and local levels in the best interest of Houstonians."
