Your Legal Questions Answered: Taxing older adults and HOA repairs

FOX 26 Senior Legal Analyst Chris Tritico answers viewers' questions.

  1. My mother is 87 years old and still paying taxes in Missouri City. Is that legal?
  2. I have lived in a townhome since 2003 and paid my dues of $150 every month. When I moved in, I was told that the home association handles all the exterior of the building, including repairs.  Over the years, my brick chimney has shifted and separated from the building. It's open wide enough that insects and rain get inside. The president of the home association told me that we would have to fix the problem ourselves. What can I do?
