There is little relief in sight as each day this week brings limited rain chances and highs above 100�. Activity remains quiet in the tropics other than one tropical wave that could bring rain to the Caribbean by the end of the week.

The Excessive Heat Warning and Heat Advisory are currently in place for the rest of the weekend but expect heat alerts to continue into the work week. HEAT ADVISORY has been extended for the Houston area through 10 PM Saturday. Heat index values of 108-112 are likely Saturday afternoon. Areas north and east of Houston will be under an EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING from 1-10 PM Saturday. Temperatures of 105 or higher and heat index values of 113 or higher are possible. This is still DANGEROUS heat so continue to make heat safety a priority by staying hydrated, limiting time outside during the hottest part of the day, and making sure your pets are safe in the heat. The weather pattern will not change much over the next week with high temperatures between 100 and 103 and heat index values near 110.
