Hurricane season: Potential Tropical Cyclone 22 brewing in the Caribbean
With only about two weeks left in our hurricane season., we are likely less than 24 hours away from having yet another tropical storm in the Caribbean!
FOX 26 Houston Weather Forecast
Clouds remained pretty thick today but it looks like brighter days are ahead. Patchy fog may develop early Friday but we are expecting sunshine by the afternoon. Friday and Saturday should be dry with high temperatures climbing to the middle to upper 70s. Sunday and Monday will be our warmest days of the next week with temperatures around 80 degrees. Look for a few showers Sunday night with a better chance for scattered showers and storms Monday afternoon and evening. Spotty rain will linger through early Tuesday. Then the chilly air spills in for Tuesday as we dry out. In fact, wind chills may be in the 30s for some of you in southeast Texas by Wednesday morning! So expect a chill heading into Thanksgiving. But Thanksgiving Day should be a bit warmer, near 70 by the afternoon with dry weather expected.
Tropical Weather Forecast - November 16, 2023
Hurricane season will be coming to an end soon. But we are still watching a few areas of development. Area of low pressure near Miami now is down to a near 0% chance for tropical cyclone development. But it will still bring some heavy rain to parts of Florida and the Bahamas. Area of low pressure in the west-central Caribbean now has a high chance to become a Tropical Depression or Tropical Storm Vince over the next few days. Potential Tropical Cyclone 22 is expected to bring heavy rain and the threat for flooding to Jamaica, eastern Cuba and Haiti where Tropical Storm watches are in effect.
FOX 26 Houston Weather Forecast
It's misting out there early on, but should get pretty nice later today...a little cool. Tomorrow and Saturday are looking great, so enjoy. We'll have a chance for some rain late Sunday, then again on Monday with a cold front we'll get blustery for Tuesday, but everything is looking good for Thanksgiving.

FOX 26 Houston Weather Forecast
Just like this morning, watch out for a few areas of thick fog early Thursday. But that should be our only weather issue over the next few days. It looks like we will wrap up this work week with beautiful fall weather and comfortable temperatures. We'll enjoy 70s in the afternoon and 50s at night with plenty of sun through Saturday. Few rain showers roll in late Sunday with our best chance for rain and a few storms coming with a cold front on Monday. That front will send temperatures back below average leading into the Thanksgiving holiday next Thursday. At least at this point, Thanksgiving is looking dry.

Tropical Weather Forecast - November 15, 2023
We are about two weeks away from the end of the 2023 hurricane season. Tropics are heating up with two possible systems to watch. First is in the SW Caribbean with a medium chance to become a tropical depression or possibly Tropical Storm Vince over the next few days. It could bring some rain to Jamaica, Haiti, Cuba and the Dominican Republic which could increase the flood threat there. A new area of low pressure is expected to form just off the SE Florida coast but will only have a 10% chance of survival into a tropical cyclone.
FOX 26 Houston Weather Forecast
Patchy fog around Southeast Texas on Wednesday morning but the afternoon will be fantastic. Look for opportunities to be outdoors over the next several days, great fall weather locked-in for Houston. The next cold front is set to arrive on Monday with showers and storms to start the work week.
FOX 26 Houston Weather Forecast
The area of low pressure that brought some rounds of rain is finally moving off to the east taking the steady rain with it. We should be dry tonight with still some scattered clouds on the back side of this storm system. Watch out for a few areas of fog early Wednesday. But otherwise, it will be a super nice stretch of fall days from Wednesday all the way through Saturday. Look for a few showers returning Sunday with a better chance for showers and storms on the way with a cold front Monday. Cooler weather will return next Tuesday as you prepare for Thanksgiving Thursday.

Tropical Weather Forecast - November 14, 2023
A late season tropical storm is not out the question with a disturbance still being monitored in the SW Caribbean for tropical development. This broad area of low pressure is expected to track NE and may develop into a tropical depression or storm over the next few days. Chance over the next few days is low but the chance for a tropical system to develop over the next 7 days is high, around 70%. I don't expect this system to head into the Gulf of Mexico but it will track towards Jamaica, Cuba, Haiti & the Dominican Republic. The rest of the tropics remain quiet for now. Hurricane season ends on November 30th.
FOX 26 Houston Weather Forecast
Mist and drizzle in the morning with slowly clearing skies in the afternoon. Highs in the upper 60s.
FOX 26 Houston Weather Forecast
Wind Advisory remains in effect until midnight down along the coast which includes Brazoria, Matagorda & Galveston Islands along with the Bolivar Peninsula. There could still be some brief 30-35 mph gusts tonight. Otherwise, just look for a few lingering showers through early Tuesday before we dry out completely. A stretch of pleasant and dry fall weather is in store Wednesday through Saturday with temperatures climbing to the low 70s Wednesday and upper 70s Saturday. Next chance for rain arrives Sunday followed by another cold front about a week from now.

Tropical Weather Forecast - November 13, 2023
With just a few weeks left in the 2023 hurricane season, we may have a late-season surprise in the Caribbean! Broad area of low pressure is expected to develop over the next day or two in the SW Caribbean and track NE towards the central Caribbean and eventually Cuba, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic. If this system becomes a tropical storm, it would be named Vince. Right now it appears that it will not move towards SE Texas. The rest of the tropics remain quiet.
