Houston weekend weather: Red Flag Warning

This weekend's Fire Weather Watch has been upgraded to a Red Flag Warning through Saturday night. FOX 26 Meteorologist John Dawson explains the warning and the rest of the upcoming forecast.

Houston weather: Warm and breezy Friday in the 80s

Warm and breezy weather expected Friday with the chance for overnight light showers. Houston is under a Fire Weather Watch today through Saturday evening. Wind gusts could reach up to 35 mph with relative humidity values ranging from 15-25%. There is a Red Flag Warning in the northwest viewing area. Avoid open flames or sparks, keep vehicles off dry grass and properly discard cigarettes.

Jon Pardi to take the stage at the Houston Rodeo

The Midway Carnival at the Houston Rodeo opens at 12. There's going to be a volunteer talent show on the junction stage from 2 to 3. And 6:45 is round one of the Rodeo Houston Super Series for inside NRG Stadium, followed by country singer Jon Pardi.

Houston weather: Thursday could see record heat

Record heat possible Thursday with forecast highs in the upper-80s. Humidity does look lower with a southwest breeze, so sunshine will warm us quickly and we could see a repeat on Friday with highs in the mid 80s with a bit more humidity.

Cool with patchy fog possible Wednesday morning, then breezy and warm with a few late-day storms well north of Houston. Breezes will kick in from the south and could gust above 20 mph through the afternoon and evening. Expect warmer highs in the low 80s with increasing humidity.

Houston weather: Chance for strong storms Wednesday

Rain chances remain low throughout the week, but a slight chance of strong storms is possible north of Houston on Wednesday night, particularly in areas near College Station, Huntsville, and Livingston.
