A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect until noon today. Yesterday's sunshine help to "warm" the Houston area to 43 degrees, but with no sun today, we're likely to stay stuck in the 30s. Chilly northeast breezes will keep wind chills in the 20s for most areas as well. The first night of Galveston Mardi Gras will be cold and breezy.

Temperatures Thursday morning ranged from 20 to 30 degrees with single digit wind chills! An Extreme Cold Warning is in effect until 10 a.m. due to wind chills near 10 degrees. Freezing temperature will stay around for the morning, then some sunshine, but staying cold with highs close to 40.

Low temperatures overnight Wednesday through Thursday morning will drop into the 20s areawide with dangerous wind chills. A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect for areas east and south of Houston to warn of wind chills in the teens. An Extreme Cold Warning is now in place for Inland Harris County, Fort Bend, Montgomery, & Waller counties through 10 am. Other cities like Huntsville, Brenham, Bellville and Wharton are also included with expected wind chills in the single digits to low teens.

A Wind Advisory is in effect until noon with winds in the 20 to 25mph range and gusts occasionally above 35 mph. Highs for Wednesday will be in the low to mid 40s with wind chills in the 20s and 30s. The air will be very dry, so no wintry precipitation for us.

A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect from 3am-10am Monday morning for communities like Huntsville, College Station, Sealy and Wharton - this warns of wind chills near 12-25?. Wind Advisory is now in effect from 9pm to Noon Wednesday for much of the area including Houston, with gusts to 35-40 mph likely. Early Thursday will bring us the coldest air with a hard freeze possible. In fact, an Extreme Cold Watch is in place for much of the area, including Houston & The Woodlands. Wind chills could drop to near 10?! Actual air temperatures will be cold enough to protect the "four p's" including covering your plants, keeping pets warm & dry, wearing extra layers & insulating pipes.

There is a slight chance for a few strong storms Tuesday evening as a strong cold front moves through. The primary risk will is isolated hail. Some spots could also pick up 1 to 2 inches of rain, which could lead to isolated street flooding. There is a Marginal, one out of four, threat for some flooding tonight along with isolated low threat for a severe storm. Following the passage of the strong cold front, temperatures will drop from the 60s to the 30s overnight.
