The tropics remain quiet except for this one area just off of the coast of Florida. Nothing has organized yet, but there is still a possibility over the next five days.

Hurricane Sam has weakened some but still a major hurricane. It should remain a Cat 3 or 4 storm for the rest of the week. There are several other areas in the Atlantic being monitored but all remains quiet in the Gulf of Mexico for now.

Tropical Weather Forecast - Sept. 25, 2021
The Gulf of Mexico remains quiet but the Atlantic is still very busy. Sam is small is size but very powerful. It is the 4th major hurricane (Cat 3+) of the 2021 Atlantic Hurricane Season (Grace/3, Ida/4, Larry/3). Sam is currently a Cat 4 and could intensifying further as it turns to the right. Bermuda should keep a close eye on this.

The Tropics remain active with several area being monitored by the National Hurricane Center. Hurricane Sam continues to strengthen and should become a major hurricane over the weekend.

The tropics remain very active as Tropical Storm Sam has now formed in the Atlantic. It is expected to become a major hurricane by the end of the weekend, but the modeling indicates it will turn to the right and stay away from the United States.

Tropical depression 18 Has formed way out in the Atlantic Ocean. It will likely become a tropical storm and even a major hurricane, but right now is not a threat to any of the US coastline.

The tropical Atlantic continues to be very active, but nothing is heading towards the USA at this time. The front moving across the eastern half of the country will also be helpful in keeping tropical storms away.

There are two tropical storms currently in the Atlantic, plus two other disturbances trying to form. It is very active, but nothing is pointed towards the Gulf of Mexico or even the US coastline.

The Tropics did not take the weekend off! We now have 2 tropical storms in the Atlantic: Peter and Rose. Plus the National Hurricane Center is watching 2 other areas for formation.

We are waiting for Invest 95L to get a little more organized. It looks like that will be our next named system, probably by the end of the weekend. Odette is falling apart.
