One Tropical Wave located north of Puerto Rico will track northward over the next few days and get close to Bermuda by this weekend. It has a medium chance for development into a tropical cyclone. Another Potential Tropical Disturbance could develop in the eastern Caribbean over the next 5 days and track west.

Two disturbances are being monitored in the Atlantic, one in the NW Atlantic and one in the SW Atlantic. One system north of Bermuda has a 20% shot to develop into a tropical system over the next 2-5 days. The other wave in the SW Atlantic has about a 30% chance for development over the next 5 days as it drifts NNE. Eastern Pacific is quiet with no tropical cyclone activity expected within the next 5 days.

A disorganized tropical wave in the central Atlantic has only a 10-20% shot for development as it moves WNW. On the other hand in the eastern Pacific, Hurricane Roslyn has grown to a dangerous Category 4 hurricane with 130 mph winds. It is expected to make landfall in west-central Mexico early Sunday bringing a flood threat, storm surge, and damaging winds.

It is expected to become a Category 2 hurricane over the weekend before making landfall early Sunday along the west central Mexico coast. It will bring a flood threat, dangerous storm surge and damaging winds. A weak tropical wave in the far east Atlantic has a low 10-20% chance of development over the next 2-5 days.

It has made the turn south towards southeast Mexico and will likely make landfall as a weak tropical storm Friday night, then quickly dissipate by Saturday. It will still bring the threat for flooding and mudslides to parts of southern Mexico including Veracruz. Another tropical wave in the far east Atlantic has a very low 20% chance for development over the next 5 days as it heads west around 5-10 mph.

But it's track will shift to the SW over the next day or so taking it into southern Mexico as a tropical storm late Friday into early Saturday. It will bring SE TX a higher rip current risk and spread a little moisture our way, but no major impacts are anticipated. A disturbance in the eastern Pacific near the western Mexican coast has a 10-20% chance for development over the next 2-5 days.

Julia is no longer a hurricane, tropical storm or depression. Remnants of Julia are located over S. Mexico and Guatemala producing heavy rain and 30 mph winds. It is expected to dissipate tonight but a chunk of it could break off, head to the eastern Pacific and possibly develop into a new system. Chances for that are low. There's also another disturbance over the Yucatan Peninsula with a low chance to track into the southern Gulf of Mexico and develop into a tropical cyclone. There's a 20% chance of this happening over the next 2-5 days.

Tropical Update - Tropical Storm Julia is pushing away from Colombia and Venezuela and is still expected to strengthen to a Category 1 hurricane by early Sunday. It is forecast to make landfall on the Nicaragua coast of Central America Sunday morning bringing the threat of flooding and mudslides. Although we won't get any direct impacts from Julia, moisture from the remnants of Julia will likely spread our way by the middle of next week.
