Houston Dynamo, Portland Timbers play to 0-0 draw in West semifinals

Jeff Attinella had two saves to help the Portland Timbers to a 0-0 draw with the Houston Dynamo on Monday night in the opener of their Western Conference semifinal. The second leg of the two-game aggregate series is Sunday in Portland. The fourth-seeded Dynamo had just one road win in the regular season.

Texans trade tackle Duane Brown to Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks solidified a big area of concern by reaching agreement to acquire veteran left tackle Duane Brown from the Houston Texans on Monday for cornerback Jeremy Lane and two draft picks. The draft picks will be a fifth-round pick in 2018 and a second-round selection in 2019, FOX 26 Sports Director Mark Berman reported on Twitter.

Astros' pitcher McCullers helps send homeless pets to new homes in California

Hundreds of pets abandoned by Hurricane Harvey are getting a new leash on life. They are heading to California--and it's partly thanks to an Astros player, Lance McCullers, Jr.  Volunteers loaded up dozens of pets Monday morning to send them to California so they can find new families.

Seahawks beat Texans 41-38

The Texans had a 38-34 lead with less than 3 minutes to play, but could not hold on. The Seahawks stunned the Texans with a late touchdown pass from Russell Wilson to Jimmy Graham to win it, 41-38. The Texans fall to 3-4 this season. Before the game, several players kneeled during the national anthem. The protest came on the heels of owner Bob McNair's controversial comments, "You can't have the inmates running the prison." Those comments were made during an owner's meeting earlier this month, and were made public on Friday. McNair spoke with the Texans but it does not appear anything has been mended.
